NH THAT’S ME – Adrienne Fromage

As we approached the end of the second month of 2017 and the last month of a hot, dry summer I have the privilege of introducing myself to the guests’ as the newly appointed Food & Beverage Manager of our beautiful hotel.

I have lived in Cape Town since birth and in Somerset West for 11 years.  Growing up whenever anything was celebrated it included good food and wine and with that my goal of working in the hospitality industry.  From the age of 16 I worked part-time in restaurants.  I completed my National Diploma in Food & Beverage Management in 2001 at the CPUT Granger Bay Hotel School.  My passion for Conference and Banqueting  started as Banqueting Co-ordinator at GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World.  In February 2006 I took up the opportunity at NH The Lord Charles as Conference & Banqueting Manger.  In October 2008 I started working in our accounts department as Procurement Manager and more recently was part of the Renovations Team who did our hotels refurbishment.

2017 sees me taking up the challenge of Food & Beverage Manager.  Our greatest asset at our hotel is our staff and I look forward to nurturing and taking our Food & Beverage Team to new heights through continuous training and introducing new ideas and concepts.  We are taking part in the Cape Legends Inter Hotel Challenge with the launch lunch in March at our Garden Terrace Restaurant and the Cook off in June 2017.  We are currently working on refreshing our Conference and Banqueting menus and packages, our Wine & Dine evening calendar is very popular and we are looking at including Food & Brandy Pairings as well as Craft Beer Pairing evenings in the near future and our Sunday Lunch always proves to be an enjoyable occasion with friends and family.

Sweet for our sweets on Valentine’s Day

It was all warm and fuzzy feeling in the NH The Lord Charles lobby on 14 February, as guests and visitors were treated to surprise complimentary sweet treats! Not to mention the balmy romance and indulgence of our special Valentine’s dinners at the Garden Terrace and La Vigna.
